We ran a study to understand how the number of photos affects the likes you get. The result was clear:
- On average, each extra photo increases your likes by 25%.
- People with 2 photos instead of 1 get 51% more likes.
- People with 7 photos get 32% more likes than those with 4.
The gain is biggest with the first photos, but it keeps showing up even on profiles that are already well filled out. If your profile has few photos, that’s where the difference is greatest.

The gain doesn’t stop after the first few photos: people with 7 photos get 32% more likes than those with 4. So our tip is simple: don’t stop early. Get to 7 and give the person on the other side more reasons to say “hi.” And if you want to go further, the app has room for up to 9 photos.
